AJRPT does not charge authors any submission or publication fees and provides open access to all its content. Access to its content is free and open. The average time between receiving a contribution and its publication is between 8 and 10 weeks. The journal accepts contributions in English and Spanish language.
AJRPT is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ), Latindex Catalog 2.0, Núcleo Básico de Revistas Científicas Argentinas (CONICET), SciELO (Argentina), LILACS, Redalyc, EBSCO Information Services, DIALNET and REDIB (Red Iberoamericana de Innovación y Conocimiento Científico).

In turn, you can validate the operation of this protocol by placing the address mentioned in the following validator: https://validator.oaipmh.com/ |
AJRPT adopts an open access policy since it considers that both scientific publications and publicly-funded research should be freely available on the Internet, free of charge or restrictions. As an open-access journal, all its content is freely available without any embargo period.
Authors are solely responsible for the content and opinions stated in their published articles.
AJRPT accepts third-party advertising (advertisers) on its website, which may include posters or banners, badges, and contextual advertising.
Decision-making and editorial content will be kept separate from advertising content, without compromising the implementation of good ethical practices
Digital preservation policy
The journal uses the Open Journal System (OJS), which is compatible with the LOCKSS (Lots of Coples Keep Stuff Safe) system that guarantees the journal permanent and secure archives.
You can consult the journal's LOCKSS publication manifest here. Deposit to it is through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which deposits content using the LOCKSS Program, which offers decentralized and distributed preservation. This allows journals that are not part of any other digital preservation service (such as CLOCKSS or Portico) the ability to be preserved for long-term access.
Additionally, our identifier policy allows all metadata to be backed up in Crossref, as you can see in this link.
Persistent identifier policy
All articles and issues published by AJRPT have a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) that guarantees permanent access to the articles, thanks to the registration, tracking and constant monitoring of metadata. Each DOI identifier is generated by Crossref through the OJS (Open Journal Systems) manager. To ensure its functionality, the DOI is always displayed as a complete URL link, both in the presentation of articles and issues of the journal, as well as in the corresponding galleys.
AJRPT also actively participates by depositing references in Crossref through the Cited-By program.
At AJRPT we also use ORCID iD, which will be mandatory from 2023 for author registration. This is a persistent identifier that distinguishes authors from other researchers, facilitates recognition of their contributions and reduces the possibility of error in their registration. This identifier is requested by the authors themselves through the website of ORCID, a global non-profit organization that promotes the transparent exchange of information.
PUBLICATION CRITERIA / INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS ↑
Submissions of original and unpublished manuscripts
What is original research?
A research study is not original if it has not been written by those who are listed as authors. This could constitute plagiarism, a practice firmly rejected by the scientific community, or fall within the category of fraud. Fraudulent articles are those that include fictional data, have evidence of ghost or guest authorship, or have been automatically created by programs used specifically for that end.
In all cases, the term original refers to the bond between the authors and the study they state to be theirs and is therefore closely connected with the authorship criteria.
What is unpublished research?
Unpublished means that your research study has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere, including digital publishing (manuscripts published, in full text, in institutional repositories: websites for congresses, conferences, symposia, among others).
Duplications
Based on the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), Overlapping Publications, AJRPT will not accept duplicate manuscripts on these two grounds:
- Two or more journals may unnecessarily and unknowingly undertake the work of peer review, edit the same manuscript, and publish the same article.
- Duplication can result in inadvertent double-counting of data or inappropriate weighting of the results of a single study, which distorts the available evidence.
In case duplication is detected during peer-review or after acceptance, the journal will follow the steps proposed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for both instances (duplication detected during peer-review and duplication detected after acceptance).

Derived Articles
In the case of derived articles from the same research project, they will not be considered as "duplicate publication" as long as the stated objectives are different. In other words, these article must address aspects that were not covered in previous publications derived from the same project.
In situations where there are derivative paper from the same research project that are already published or under review in other journals, it is necessary to mention these articles in the "Declaration of Ethical Aspects and Conflict of Interest," requested at the initial submission stage (Download the template). In this declaration, it is essential to clearly describe the differences between those articles and the article submitted for evaluation.
Plagiarism detection
According to the policy of the journal, manuscripts must be original (drafted by the individuals who are listed as authors) and unpublished (not previously published in printed or digital format). To ensure academic integrity and prevent plagiarism, the journal implements a set of strategies to avoid plagiarism in publications as recommended by the COPE guidelines.
Authors are required to refrain from committing plagiarism, which is defined as the appropriation of texts from other authors without their consent and without properly citing the source, even in cases where explicit permission has been obtained from the original authors. Additionally, authors are expected to avoid the inclusion of substantial parts of their own previously published works in the submitted texts, ensuring that there is no more than a 20% overlap between a previous text and the proposed work.
The plagiarism check process is carried out during peer review. The journal's editors use an anti-plagiarism software tool (iThenticate) to analyze each article. If similarities exceeding 20% are detected, the article undergoes a thorough evaluation. The report generated by iThenticate is reviewed by the editors, who contact the authors to inform them about the percentage of plagiarism if it is deemed unacceptable. After this control process, the editors send a report to the author, which may result in the definitive rejection of the article or, alternatively, provide an opportunity to rewrite the work, properly citing the sources of the identified plagiarized texts. Please refer to the steps proposed by COPE in case a possible plagiarism is detected during the review process in the following link.
PEER-REVIEW PROCESS ↑
The evaluation process is carried out under the protection of confidentiality, for which both the reviewers and the authors are unaware of their respective identities (double blind).
Based on the opinions issued by external reviewers, the articles may be accepted for publication, rejected, or their publication is subject to compliance by the authors with the modifications requested by the reviewers.
The Editorial Committee of the journal will inform the author within a period of 30 days whether the manuscript has been rejected for evaluation by external reviewers.
In case modifications are requested, authors must rework their papers and submit them within the indicated deadline (21 days) to be re-evaluated. Each evaluation will have two double-blind evaluations, using an average time of 30 days.
In case of controversy between the opinions, the editorial committee will resolve the decision based on the arguments given by the evaluators and the possibility of resorting to a third evaluation. Those articles that do not comply with the editorial guidelines of the journal will not be accepted for evaluation.
The average time used for the scientific evaluation of the works is 9 months (7 months reception-acceptance and 2 months acceptance-publication).
For greater clarity, the editorial process of our journal is schematically outlined in the following image:

For any further guidance, the reader should know that AJRPT takes COPE's guidelines as a reference in this regard.
