Resumen

Objetivo: Sintetizar los efectos de la vocalización por encima del balón (ACV, por sus siglas en inglés) en sujetos adultos traqueostomizados.

Materiales y métodos: Se realizó una revisión sistemática (PROSPERO CRD42023395561) que incluyó ensayos clínicos aleatorizados (ECA) y ECA cruzados para sintetizar los efectos de la ACV sobre la decanulación, la calidad de vida (QoL, por sus siglas en inglés) y los eventos adversos (EA) en sujetos adultos con traqueostomía.

Resultados: Se incluyó un estudio con 50 sujetos, el cual no evaluó la decanulación. La ACV tuvo poca o ninguna diferencia en la QoL relacionada con la salud y la voz a los cinco días de seguimiento (diferencia de medias: 0,83 y 10,24; intervalo de confianza: -10,3 a 11,96 y -2 a 22,48, respectivamente), y probablemente tuvo poca o ninguna diferencia en los EA a las dos semanas de seguimiento (0 por 1000, 0 a 0), con certeza baja y moderada, respectivamente.

Conclusión: No hay evidencia sobre el efecto de la ACV en la decanulación, y la certeza de evidencia respecto de la QoL y los EA es baja a moderada. Se requieren investigaciones adicionales centradas en los desenlaces no reportados.
