Abstract

A complete vestibular and oculomotor assessment is the key to differentiating between peripheral and central causes of acute vertigo

The physical therapist must be trained to perform a specialized assessment of the patient

The objetive this step by step guide is to provide the reader with detail on the procedure and interpretation of the most relevant evaluation tools of the physical examination, with and without visual fixation, to perform a differential diagnosis of a patient who enters the physiotherapy consultation.
